A boy walking to school in a pair of worn out shoes was the inspiration for Cherith’s Shoes 4 Kids program.  On the spot, we provided the boy with another pair of shoes.  This happened at the end of 2006; since then Cherith has provided hundreds of less privileged schoolchildren with new shoes.

Most children in Sri Lanka have only one pair of school shoes.  Often the shoes are worn out after six months and ir is a challenge for low income families to provide proper footwear for their children.  Cherith’s Shoes 4 Kids program is therefore a great blessing to them.

Cherith purchases the shoes locally for about $10 a pair.

The Shoes 4 Kids program is currently expanding to new areas in Sri Lanka with the help of regional coordinators.
